Course Descriptions
Building Emergency Response Team
This introductory course teaches the principles of safety and preparedness in the workplace. The course is designed to help safety personnel understand how to prepare, respond, and cope with workplace emergencies such as fires, earthquakes, workplace violence, and bomb threats. This course also provides direction for the recruitment and retention of in-house emergency response teams.

Floor Warden Training
This course is designed for Floor Wardens. Participants will learn the emergency procedures within the floor area and how to coordinate with the Building Emergency Response Team (B.E.R.T.) for direct communication with facility management, local Fire and Police personnel, and building security personnel. This training also provides participants with the familiarity of floor arrangement for head count, emergency exits, how to use all the fire and emergency related equipment, and exit procedures.

Security Awareness Training
This training teaches basic security methods for securing and protecting company property. The training includes interior and exterior safety and methods of work area observation. Participants will also learn what they can do in the event of a confrontation with an intruder, and methods of securing personal property as well as proper reporting procedures.

Fire Life Safety Training
This training provides critical skills of fire emergency procedures, fire containment, and search and rescue procedures. This course includes NIMS/SEMS objectives, Five Building Emergency Systems Everybody Should Know, and thorough instructions on the use and maintenance of fire extinguishers, identification of building fire safety systems, building damage observation, and how to handle medical emergencies until help arrives. This course also addresses Title 15 regulations.

Disaster Preparedness Training
This course provides the survival skills needed to help themselves and others in the event of a major disaster such as an earthquake, fire, flood, or bomb threat. The course incorporates the NIMS/SEMS model for emergency procedures and gives guidelines for developing a long-term Disaster Preparedness Plan. Trainees will receive a Quick Reference Guide for Emergencies: Earthquake, Fire, Bomb Threat and Hazardous Material Spill.

Premises Violence Prevention Training
This course is taught in conjunction with your organization’s violence program. It includes training on how to recognize and understand the risk factors associated with various types of violence and hostile behaviors. Participants will learn to understand and be able to identify these factors to effectively reduce the risk of violence in business premises. This training also prepares for unexpected intruders and how to recognize and address stress factors in others.

Bloodborne/Airborne Pathogens Standard Training (OSHA Requirement)
This course is designed for workers with potential occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials in the course of performing their assigned duties and tasks. Topics include an overview of the regulatory requirements covering blood borne pathogens, symptoms of blood borne diseases, recommended engineering control measures, proper disposal of contaminated materials, selection of personal protective equipment (PPE), corrective actions, information on post exposure evaluation, and signs and labels.

Fire Extinguisher Training (OSHA Requirement)
This training complies with OSHA regulations, Title 8, paragraph G that requires every employer to provide annual training in the use of fire extinguishers for emergency response personnel. The Fire Extinguisher Course for Emergency Responders includes:
– Three main types of fires and their characteristics
– Steps to follow in case of a fire
– Various types of fire extinguishers and how to use them
– Possible hazards encountered when fighting a fire inside a building

Living with Earthquakes Training
This course teaches participants the survival skills needed to help themselves and others in the event of a major earthquake. Participants learn how to prevent unnecessary injuries and damages before they occur, greatly increasing chances of safety and survival by being aware and prepared.

Be Safe© Program: Safety Orientation
The Be Safe© Orientation covers employee safety rights and responsibilities, is designed for all employees, and should be implemented company-wide. The orientation increases awareness for workplace safety to help reduce injuries, reduce Workers’ Compensation claims, and enable employees to recognize unsafe conditions, and report safety hazards. Participants receive the Be Safe© Handbook, a completion card, and a Be Safe© workspace decal.
